ALAN NOLET '78
Inaugural Class of 1992 Inductee
A four-year member of Clarkson's lacrosse team, Alan Nolet is one of the most prolific scorers in the Golden Knights' record book and was one of the top attackmen in Small College Lacrosse during the mid-seventies (1975-78). Clarkson's leading scorer in each of his four seasons Nolet, a native of East Hampstead, N.H., averaged a school-record 5.53 points a game during his stellar career with the Green and Gold, amassing 216 points on 83 goals and a school-record of 133 assists in only 39 games.
During his junior campaign, when he ranked fifth in the nation in points per game scoring average (6.5), Nolet exhibited one of the finest individual efforts ever performed by a Clarkson player. On April 30, 1977, in a home contest against Ithaca College, Nolet led the Green and Gold to a 13-11 upset win over the Bombers in overtime for the Knights' first triumph ever over the perennial powerhouse. He scored seven goals and five assists in the victory, including the only two goals in overtime to clinch the win.
Serving as team captain during his senior season in 1978, Nolet led Clarkson to its third-straight winning campaign with a 7-3 record, scoring 30 goals and 33 assists for 63 points.
Nolet, a chemical engineering major, earned All-American accolades as a senior, was named an All-Independent College Athletic Conference all-star in his junior and senior season, and was honored as a co-winner of Clarkson's 1978 Outstanding Senior Athlete Award. Nolet, who is actively involved in Friends of Clarkson Lacrosse and plays regularly in the alumni games, is also the only Clarkson lacrosse player to have his uniform number (#22) retired.
The Clarkson University Athletic Hall of Fame was founded to honor and perpetuate the memory of those individuals who, either through participation, support or interest have made outstanding contributions to Clarkson athletics, and who have helped to bring recognition, honor and distinction to the University. It is with great pride that Clarkson inducts Alan Nolet into the Athletic Hall of Fame.
