SENIOR YEAR (1993-94) – Runner-up for college hockey’s most prestigious honor, the Hobey Baker Award … Honored as a first-team forward on the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Titan All-America squad … Named a first-team ECAC All-Star … Selected to play in AHCA Shine East-West College Hockey Classic … Named to ECAC All-Tournament team … The ECAC’s leading scorer in the playoffs with nine points (3-6) … Led the Knights in scoring with 66 points on 26 goals and 40 assists in 34 games … Among the leading scorers in the country in points per game average (1.94) … Finished second in the ECAC scoring race with 38 league points (15-23) … Served as Clarkson team captain …Tallied nine power-play goals and two shorthanded markers … Recorded hat tricks against Harvard and Providence … Named four times to the ECAC weekly Honor Roll … Posted 22 multiple-point games ... JUNIOR YEAR (1992-93) – After a mid-season scoring slump, he returned to form with at least one point in eight of the last 10 games … Was sixth on the team in scoring with 10 goals and 25 assists … Tallied his 100th career point by scoring the Knights’ first goal in 5-2 win over Rensselaer in ECAC Tournament (3/19) … Recorded four points (1-3) in 12-1 win over Northeastern (11/6) … Scored three ppg.
SOPHOMORE YEAR (1991-92) – Continued to make his presence felt offensively, scoring 19 goals and 17 assists for 36 points in 32 games … Shared the team lead in power-play goals with six ... Scored the winning goals in 6-5 victory over Yale (1/4) and 4-0 triumph over Princeton (2/22) … Recorded 11 multiple-point games, including three two-goal outings. … Tallied four points (1-3) in 10-3 win over Dartmouth (11/16) … Selected an ECAC Honorable Mention all –star.
FRESHMAN YEAR (1990-91) – Experienced a solid rookie campaign playing in 39 games as a first and second line center … Top freshman scorer with 30 points on eight goals and 22 assists … Scored first collegiate goal in 3-3 tie against Cornell (11/17) … Had seven multiple-point games … Recorded 10 points (3-7) in playoffs, including two assists n NCAA semifinal game against Boston University … Selected to ECAC All-rookie team … Honored as ECAC Rookie of the Week.
BEFORE CLARKSON – Played at Northwood Prep in Lake Placid during the 1989-90 season and was team’s leading scorer with 76 points (32-44) in 32 games … Skated three years for Potsdam High (1986-89).
PERSONAL – Son of Marianne and Mike Conroy – Born September 4, 1971 … His father Mike (’73) and uncles Terry Conroy ’78 and Tom Taylor ’82) also skated for the Golden Knights … Craig and Mike Conroy are the only father/son combination in Clarkson’s 100-point club … 1990 sixth round NHL draft choice (123rd overall) by the Montreal Canadiens … Participated in try-outs this past summer for the U.S. Olympic team … Played for US team at USA Cup Tournament in Albany last December … Management major … Shoots right ….
