Lorenzo Mencaccini is entering his second season as the Alpine Ski team's coach for the 2025-26 season. In his first campaign with Clarkson, Mencaccini guided the Knights to a pair of top four finishes at the USCSA National Championships, the first time that both Green and Gold teams placed that high since 2015.

Mencaccini was a standout at Vermont State University Castleton both in the classroom and on the slopes. He was named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American At-Large First-Team selection in 2023 and 2024, including the CSC Academic At-Large All-American of the Year (2024), and is a five-time USCSA All-American.

A graduate of Castleton in May 2024  with a degree in Management and a perfect 4.00 grade-point average, Mencaccini was the 2024 USCSA National Champion, winning both the giant slalom and slalom events. He took first in the giant slalom by 1.58 seconds despite the event being limited to just one run, and won the slalom by 1.14 seconds. In 2023, he finished second in the overall standings, coming within half a second of winning the slalom at Mammoth Lakes, and in 2022 he was third in the overall standings, having finished second in the slalom and fifth in the giant slalom. Additionally, Mencaccini has participated in numerous international FIS races, achieving 90 top-10 finishes, 28 podium positions (top three) and nine victories.

Mencaccini has spent the last four years coaching for West Mountain Racing, helping with the tutelage of U14 and U16 athletes at pre-season camps. Mencaccini speaks multiple languages, including his native Italian, English, Spanish, and some German.
