Making its second consecutive Frozen Four appearance and third showing in the past four years, the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team has its sights set upon adding another National Championship trophy to display case at Cheel Arena to go alongside the one the Golden Knights won in 2014.

Guided by ninth-year head coach Matt Desrosiers and assistant coaches Tony Maci and Britni Smith, Clarkson has reached the 30-win mark for the second straight season and has earned the No. 2 seed in the Frozen Four with a 30-4-5 overall record. The Green and Gold, led by co-captains, senior Cayley Mercer (Exter, ONT) and junior Savannah Harmon(Downers Grove, IL) won their third ECAC Hockey regular season title with a 19-1-2 league mark, and skated to their first conference tournament championship two weeks ago.

Clarkson will be joined by an accomplished group on the Family Arena ice this weekend.  Rounding out the quartet in St. Charles, Missouri are - #1 Wisconsin, #4 Boston College and Minnesota.

The Knights will face off against Minnesota in the second semifinal game on Friday night, slated to start at 9:00 p.m. EST. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since Clarkson defeated the Gophers 5-4 in the 2014 NCAA Championship game.

No. 1 seed Wisconsin will battle 4th-seeded Boston College in Friday's first semifinal game, which starts at 6:00 p.m. EST. Friday's winners will square off on Sunday, beginning at 2:00 p.m. to determine who will be crowned the champion of the 17th NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Championship.
