Sam Cogen

Sam Cogen enters his second season as a member of the Clarkson University Athletic Training Staff.

Sam’s primary duties will be with the men’s hockey program, baseball, and golf programs.  Growing up in Cincinnati, OH, Cogen graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2018. He then earned his Master of Science degree in Kinesiology with a focus in Athletic Training from Indiana University in 2020.

Prior to arriving at Clarkson, Sam worked as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, working primarily with their men’s ice hockey and baseball programs. While at Indiana University as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, Cogen worked with a local high school and middle school, as well as with Indiana University’s baseball, men’s tennis, and cheerleading teams. He also provided medical outreach services for the school’s club ice hockey teams.  During his time at Ohio University, Cogen completed an athletic training clinical internship with the
Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins in the American Hockey League.

Sam is certified in Graston Technique (M1), is a Corrective Exercise Specialist, and holds a Dry Needling Certification. He is also a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association.
