Knights Get Revenge with 1-0 Win over Robert Morris

Moon Township, PA - After suffering a shocking upset on Friday night, the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team gained a measure of revenge with a 1-0 win over Robert Morris on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights improved to 4-1-1 overall after having dropped a 3-1 decision to the Colonials yesterday. Robert Morris fell to 1-4. Clarkson opens ECAC Hockey League play next weened when it visits Princeton and Quinnipiac.

Clarkson put together a dominating performance throughout the contest, out shooting Robert Morris 30-11, but the game remained scoreless through the first two frames. It wasn't until the 2:56 mark of the third period that the Golden Knights got on the scoreboard as freshman Melissa Waldie (Newmarket, ONT) scored her fourth goal of the season. Senior captain Katie Morrison (Ridgefield, CT) and junior Courtney O'Connor (Chicago, IL) each earned assists on the game's lone goal.

Lauren Dahm (Baldwinsville, NY) made 11 saves to earn her second career victory, recording her first shutout in the process. Brianne McLaughlin made 29 saves for the Colonials.

The Knights went 0-for-9 on the power play as Robert Morris was whistled for 18 minutes of penalties. The Colonials also were unable to produce on any man-advantage opportunities, going 0-for-6.
