Potsdam, NY - Junior Jessica Brody (Phoenix, AZ) had six kills and five digs in two sets to help lead the Clarkson University Volleyball team to a convincing three-set sweep over Plattsburgh State, 25-15, 25-17, 25-15, Tuesday evening at Alumni Gymnasium.
The Golden Knights improved to 8-5 overall and will next play in the Liberty League Previews this weekend at Lake Placid, NY. The Cardinals dropped to 5-9.
Clarkson consistently fell behind in the opening moments of each set, but always rallied to get a decent lead early on in each set. The Knights enjoyed a balanced attack throughout the match, with Brody coming in to do her damage in the final two sets. She had four kills on four swings in the last set as Clarkson hit a combined .391.
Brody and senior Hilary Lockwood (Victor, NY) each had a team-high six kills while Sara Artus (St. Regis Falls, NY) and Nicole Edwards (Weiser, ID) each added four kills. Edwards also contributed five total blocks.
Amanda Rankin (Horseheads, NY) led the team with 13 assists and Jenna Stock (Johnstown, NY) added in 11 assists and seven digs. Alison Schroeder (Webster, NY) led the team in digs with 16.
