Winners of four straight and unbeaten in its last five games, the Clarkson University Women’s Hockey team will look to strengthen its hold on first-place in the ECAC Hockey standings as it plays three games this week. Clarkson travels 11 miles down Route 11 on Tuesday night to battle arch-rival St. Lawrence University in Canton. Faceoff is 7:00 p.m. and can be heard live on WQTK 93.7 FM and over the internet on Clarkson Hockey Broadcast Central.

Guided by second-year head coaches Shannon and Matt Desrosiers, Clarkson is ranked third in the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine national polls with a 19-5-3 overall record. With seven games remaining in the regular season, the Green and Gold, led by senior captain Britney Selina (Thornhill, ONT) and senior assistant captain Carlee Eusepi (Oakville, ONT) stand atop the ECAC Hockey standings with a 13-1-1 conference mark. The Knights, with a game in hand on their nearest challengers, are four points ahead of second-place Cornell and seven points in front of Harvard, Princeton and Rensselaer, who are tied for third.
Playing its first games at home since early December, Clarkson swept Central NY rivals Colgate and Cornell at Cheel Arena this past weekend. On Friday, junior Lauren Dahm (Baldwinsville, NY) posted 25 saves to record her second straight shutout and seventh whitewash of the season in the 3-0 victory over Colgate. Sophomore Juana Baribeau (Amos, QUE) scored twice while Selina added a goal. In a key conference matchup on Saturday, the Knights overcame Cornell 2-1. Freshman Danielle Skirrow (Trenton, ONT) tallied her first collegiate goal and sophomore Brittany Mulligan (London, ONT) recorded the game-winner along with an assist to pace the Knights offensively. Dahm was solid once again with 14 saves.
Senior Dominique Thibault (L’Orignal, ONT), leads the Clarkson’s offense with 31 points. including a team-high 16 goals. Four other Knights are recording double figures in the points column. Clarkson’s all-time leading scorer, Selina has tallied 29 points, including a team-high 20 assists. Selina has amassed 141 career points on 49 goals and 92 assists through 135 games. Baribeau has 27 points (14-13) while junior Melissa Waldie (Newmarket, ONT) has 23 points (12-11) and leads the team in power-play markers with six. Eusepi powers the offense from the blueline with 13 points (4-9).
Dahm backbones one of the nation’s stingiest defensive units. She has played every minute in the Green and Gold crease and holds a .939 save percentage, a 1.47 goals against average and is tied for the national lead in shutouts (7).
In the middle of a five-game home stand, St. Lawrence owns an 11-9-7 overall record and is in seventh place in the conference standings with a 7-5-3 league slate. The Saints are 0-2-1 in their last three games. This past weekend at Appleton Arena, St. Lawrence tied Cornell (2-2) before losing to Colgate (2-1). The Saints’ last win was a 3-2 triumph at Brown on January 22.
Clarkson is 3-10-2 all-time against SLU. The Knights won the first meeting this season 4-1 at Cheel on October 27. Clarkson has never won at Appleton Arena, going 0-8-1 in Canton.
