Guided by fourth-year co-head coaches Matt and Shannon Desrosiers and assistant coach Matt Kelly, Clarkson posted a 4-1-3 record through the season-opening, non-league portion of the schedule. The Knights, led by senior captain Katelyn Ptolemy (Dinsmore, SASK) and senior assistant captain Danielle Boudreau (Whitby, ONT), own the longest current unbeaten streak in the nation at six games (4-0-2) and are coming off two of their best efforts of the season.\
The Green and Gold skated to a 2-2 tie in Potsdam against fourth-ranked Boston University on Friday and then skated by the University of New Hampshire 2-1 on Saturday for the program's 150th all-time victory since the 2003-04 campaign. Clarkson’s lone setback this season was a 6-3 non-league loss at St. Lawrence on October 1. The Knights are 3-0-2 at home having outscored their opponents 14-8 at Cheel.
Sophomore Jamie Lee Rattray (Kanata, ONT) has been a dynamic presence up front for the Knights this season. She leads the Green and Gold in scoring with 14 points on five goals and a team-high nine assists. Named to this week’s ECAC Hockey Honor Roll, Rattray scored both goals in the win over UNH. Classmate Carly Mercer (Exeter, ONT) has also picked up where she left off after a standout rookie campaign, and has tallied four power-play goals (tied for second most in the nation) and four assists. Senior Gabrielle Kosziwka (Limehouse, ONT) has had the hot hand recently, scoring four goals in the last four games.
The recipient of the past two ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week awards, sophomore Erica Howe (Ottawa, ONT) has played every second in the Clarkson goal through the first eight games. She posts a .906 save percentage and a 2.30 goals against average. Howe made 24 saves in tie against BU, followed by 12 saves in one-goal win over UNH.
Ranked 10th in the country and coming off a 22-win campaign last year, Dartmouth officially opened up its season on Sunday with a tough 4-3 loss at fourth-ranked Boston College. The Big Green won an exhibition game over McGill (3-2) in Hanover, NH last Friday.
Harvard, which plays at St. Lawrence on Friday prior to meeting the Knights, skated to a 3-1 win over McGill in exhibition action in Cambridge, MA on Saturday for its first action of the season.
