A late goal gave the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team a 2-1 over Yale at Ingalls Rink in New Haven, CT on Saturday afternoon.

Clarkson is on a five-game winning streak and has an 8-3 record and is a perfect 3-0 in ECAC Hockey play.

"We knew tonight was going to be a good test for us and we spoke before the game on how we were going to have to work hard to earn two points," stated Clarkson Head Coach Matt Desrosiers. "Yale did a great job in the first period putting some pressure on us around our net and were able to generate some second chances. We had a few penalties in the first period as well and that didn't allow us to get the momentum going in our favor. We came out much better in the second and third periods by simply starting to move our feet and taking care of things around our net and through the neutral zone. Both of our power play units did a great job of controlling the puck and generating our two goals by getting some bodies to the front of the net. Yale is going to be a team that earns some points in the league so it was very important for us to come away with the win tonight."

Yale struck first when they scored a power-play goal with under a minute to play in the first period.

Clarkson would tie the game at 5:53 in the second period when junior captain Shannon MacAuley (Mt. Hebert, PEI) scored a power-play goal. It was MacAuley's ninth goal of the year and marked the third straight game she had tallied at least one goal.

At 7:22 in the third period, the Golden Knights would take the lead when freshman defensemanSavannah Harmon (Downers Grove, IL) scored a power-play goal for the gamewinner. The reigning ECAC Rookie of the Week extended her point-scoring streak to five games with four goals and five assists during that span, including two goals and two assists in the weekend road sweep.

Freshman goalkeeper Shea Tiley (Owen Sound, ONT) made a career high 32 saves in the win, including 17 in the first period. Clarkson held a slim 36-33 advantage in shots. They went 2 for 3 on man-advantage opportunities, while holding Yale to 1 for 5 in the same category.

The Knights are off next weekend before resuming ECAC Hockey play on November 14-15 when they host Harvard and Dartmouth at Cheel Arena.
