Live Stats/Live Video

Clarkson vs. The Field: The Golden Knights, seeded third in the Liberty League Tournament after going 7-3 in the regular season, will take on second-seeded Ithaca College (2:30 pm). Fourth-seeded Skidmore College will face top-seeded William Smith College earlier on Saturday (11:30 am). The Golden Knights lost to Ithaca College earlier this year, 24-16, but beat potential championship opponent Skidmore, 15-10. Clarkson is the only team to beat William Smith in league play since the start of the 2016 season, doing so twice, but the Knights dropped an 8-1 decision to the Herons less than a month ago.

Key Stats for Clarkson (12-6, 7-3 Liberty League, #3 seed): Clarkson ranks third in the Liberty League in scoring (14.44 gpg) and is second on goals allowed (10.22 goals against average) thanks to a well-rounded team. Freshman Sydney Roderick has spent most of the season setting new Clarkson standards for first-year players, recording 76 points on 31 goals and 45 assists, including 22 goals and 26 assists in 11 games against league foes. She was particularly active against Ithaca, scoring eight points on four goals and four assists in that contest. Clarkson has plenty of other scoring options as five other players have registered 30 points or more. Jaid Baytos (41-11-52), Aubrey Borgesi (45-1-46), Abby Collins (26-17-43), Katie Sergeant (34-5-39) and Mia Petrone (28-2-30) have each enjoyed standout games, with Collins producing seven points in Clarkson's win over Skidmore a few weeks ago. She also leads the team in groundballs (34) and caused turnovers (24) while ranking second in draw controls (44). Amanda Ellman and Stephanie Scaia are tied for second in groundballs (32) and have contributed 22 and 17 caused turnovers, respectively.

Key Stats for Ithaca (12-5, 8-2 Liberty League, #2 seed): The top offense in the conference, Ithaca has averaged 15.29 goals per game. The Bombers were held to single digits in scoring only four times in 17 contests, and each of those games was against a nationally-ranked opponent. Ithaca has three of the top seven scorers in the conference in Bailey Herr (45-35-80), Elizabeth Rice (52-8-60) and Allie Panara (21-38-59), with Panara also adding in 67 draws. Jacquie Hallack (37-5-42) and Danika Wagener (25-11-36) are also dangerous offensive threats. Reid Simoncini leads the league in draws (102) and she and Molly Nodiff are both busy on defense, with each contributing more than 40 groundballs and 25 caused turnovers.

Key Stats for Skidmore (12-5, 7-3 Liberty League, #4 seed): The Thoroughbreds have the most prolific scorer in the conference in Cas Swajkowski. The senior attacker leads the conference in points (94) and goals (86), having scored more goals than any other player in the league has points. Swajkowski's output has been reduced against the tougher teams, however, as she produced 10 points total (9-1-10) against the three teams remaining in the field (3.33 ppg) as compared to 84 points in the other 14 games (6.00 ppg). Both she and Emily Hirsch have combined for 194 draw controls, a total that is equal to or more than six other teams in the conference. Natalie LaBeau (23-16-39), Amanda Orvis (25-12-37), Anna Boogaerts (27-9-36) and Hirsch (29-3-32) have also amassed 30 points or more this year.

Key Stats for William Smith (15-2, 10-0 Liberty League, #1 seed): While Clarkson, Ithaca and Skidmore are the top three offenses in the league and all within shouting distance of one another in terms of scoring average, no team in the Liberty League is close to the Herons in terms of defense. William Smith allowed just 6.41 goals per game, with Clarkson's 10.22 being the second best figure in the league. The Herons reduced that number to just 5.1 goals per game against league foes as they outscored opponents by 100 goals in 10 contests. Mekayla Montgomery (80 draws, 52 groundballs, 39 caused turnovers) and Ellen Arena (49 groundballs, 30 caused turnovers) are big reasons why the defense has been so good, but the goalkeepers have been up to task when the ball does happen to get past the defenders. Olivia Hofmann leads the league in goals against average (5.58) and save percentage (.568). She splits time her time with Jules Kennedy who also has a 7.51 goals against average (second in the conference) and .466 save percentage.
