Clarkson stormed out of the gate tonight against Colgate and got an early lead on the Raiders.
Caitrin Lonergan scored her 4th of the year at 4:18 into the game. Colgate was able to even the game at 9:00 min mark of the period on the Power Play when Serdachny got her 5th of the season. The Raiders struck again quickly after at 10:38 when Schneider got her 2nd of the year.
Midway through the third period there was a collision at center ice, which lead to a review by the officials. The review produced a 5 min major for head contact to
Kristy Pidgeon. Early in that kill, Colgate's Neubauerova slashed the stick out of Giguere's hand and Clarkson got some relief from the full 5 min penalty kill. The Knight got a boost from the man down situation, but a break back the other way lead to Colgate's 3rd goal at 10:34 to seal the game for the Raiders. Clarkson would pull their goalie with 3:00 to play and pick up a power play with under 2 minutes, but were unable to score with the 6-4 advantage.
Marie-Pier Coulombe was strong in nets, especially in the first period when she faced 16 shots. She finished with 26 saves. Colgate's Osborne finished the night with 24 saves.
Next up, Clarkson will host SLU for their first game of the year. Faceoff will be 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
