Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Lonergan's 2 goals lead Knights to win at Colgate

The story was very similar to Friday nights win...Michelle Pasiechnyk stood tall in net and Caitrin Lonergan scored two goals and Clarkson comes away with a 2-1 win at Colgate to move to 7-5-1 on the season and 3-3 in conference play.

Colgate scored just 56 seconds into the game when Sammy Smigliani got Colgate on the board.

Lonergan got first of the night at 8:10 of the second period unassisted.  She put the Knights ahead for good just 32 seconds into the 3rd period, Elizabeth Giguere and Nicole Gosling got the helpers on Caitrin's goal.

Colgate pulled their goalie with 2+ minutes to go in the game, but their efforts to tie the game were dealt a blow when Schneider took at penalty on a tough hit on Giguere with under a minute to go.  Clarkson was able to ride out the remaining time with no chances against from Colgate.

Pasiechnyk made 30 saves, winning her 3rd straight game and 4th in 5 starts.

On the season for Lonergan, 8 of her 10 goals have come against Colgate, which represents 40% of the total goals Colgate has given up this season.  Caitrin is now 2nd in the country in goals scored.

Clarkson killed off both Colgate power plays and went 0 for 4 on the power play.

Next up the Knights will have the week off with the postponement of their game with SLU on Wednesday and will face Colgate again on the weekend in a non league series.
