Clarkson takes on Colgate in a matchup of the nation's top goaltenders

The Clarkson Golden Knights will face their toughest tests of the season when they travel to Colgate and Cornell this weekend.  The Raiders are ranked 6th in the nation and the Big Red are just ahead of the Knights at #9. 

Tonights matchup will feature 3rd and 5th highest scoring offenses in the country against the 1st and 2nd best netminders in the country for GAA and the 3rd and 4th lowest team GAA in the nation.  Anne Cherkowski, Darcie Lappan, and Gabrielle David continue to pace the Knights offensively.  Michelle Pasiechnyk and Julia Minotti have combined for .992 GAA on the season.  The Knights should also benefit from the return of their Captain, Sr. Brooke McQuigge to the line up this weekend.
 
The Knights remain 10th nationally in the DCU/USCHO and moved up to 10th in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Division I Women's Poll.  The ECAC placed 6 teams in the top 15 of the national poll.   
Coming into the weekend Clarkson is: 
  • 5th in the country for Goals scored (40)
  • 5th nationally in assists (71)
  • 5th for team points (111) 
  • Clarkson is averaging 3.33 goals per game.
  • The Knights have out shot their opponents in 9 of their 10 games and have allowed 20 shots or less in 8 games this season.
The Knights have 3 of the top 15 point producers in all of  Women's College Hockey for 2022-23, Sr. Gabrielle David has 6 goals and 12 assists on the season and became the 17th Golden Knight to eclipse 100 career points.  Gab is tied for 4th in the Nation for assists and 5th in points, then transfer Darcie Lappan leads the team and tied for the national lead in points (21) and tied for 3rd in the nation for goals scored at 8. Anne Cherkowski has 10 goals, which leads the team and tied for the national lead.
 
In the crease, Michelle Pasiechnyk has started 8 games (7-1)in which she has posted a .961% save percentage (4th best in NCAA), 0.749 GAA (2nd best in NCAA) and 4 shutouts.  She was named MAC Goaltending ECAC Goalie of the Week in consecutive weeks and named the HCA Goalie of the Month for October. Freshman and Jullia Minnotti has a 3-0-1 record in net, posting a .902% save percentage and a 1.47 GAA.
