After a long layoff there was no rust for the Golden Knights as they came out strong against the Wisconsin Badgers.  Midway through the opening period the Knights held a 8-4 shot advantage and were applying plenty of pressure the defending National Champs.  The Knights got a power play at 13:28 of the first where they had several good chances.  Unfortunately for the Knights, Wisconsin was able to score late in the period when Maddie Wheeler tucked a shot in short side at 17:50 to give the Badgers the 1-0 lead at the end of the first.  Clarkson out shot the Badgers 9-6 in the first period.

In the second period the Knights gave up a power play goal to Wisconsin when Daryl Watts scored at 9:42.  Clarkson was out shot 13-7 in the second frame.  

The Knights opened the third period with a power play but were unable to score and then ith 2:01 left the Knights were able to pull within one when Nicole Gosling jammed home the rebound from Florence Lessard and Gabrielle David. The Knights pulled their goalie again and were able to continue to pressure the Badgers but with 18 seconds left, Wisconsin was able to get the empty netter to finish off the Knights.  

Amanda Zeglen was great in her first NCAA start for the Green and Gold, making 22 saves.   

Clarkson finishes the season 22-12-3, a season in which 9 of those 12 losses came to teams that advanced to the NCAA tournament.
