In a battle of two top ten teams, the Clarkson Golden Knights earned at 3-1 win in one of their toughest games of the season.
The first period had the sense that both teams were feeling each other out, looking for any weaknesses, but neither team was able to break through. The Knights out shot the Bobcats, 8 to 5 in the period, despite having to kill off the lone penalty of the period.
In the 2nd, Clarkson grabbed the lead when
Laurence Frenette got her 3rd of the season at 8:13, Stevenson and Kirwan added assists on the goal. Clarkson would hold the shot advantage in the middle frame as well, 11 to 6.
At 14:32,
Sara Swiderski would get called for a trip, giving the Bobcats a late power play, but short handed,
Jaden Bogden scored to put the game out of reach. The goal would be reviewed but held up and the Knights held a 3-0 lead with 4:03 left in the game.
Quinnipiac would score with the extra attacker at 17:03, but not get close after that and the Knights were able to close out the game for their first ECAC win.
Michelle Pasiechnyk would make 18 saves for her 6th win of the season. For the 9th time this season, the Knights held a team to under 20 shots against.
