Clarkson took a 1-0 series lead in the ECAC Best of Three Quarterfinal Series with a 5-1 win over Cornell yesterday at Cheel Arena. Goals from
Sara Swiderski, Both McQuigge sisters,
Nicole Gosling, and Gab David gave the Knights the commanding win.
The Clarkson Golden Knights are hosting a home playoff series for the 11th time in their 20 year history. The Knights are 10-1 in ECAC Quarterfinal series held at Cheel Arena. Clarkson will host the Cornell Big Red and team in which they split the season series, both teams winning at home.
Last weekend the Knights ended on a strong note as they hosted a hot Princeton Tigers team and the #6 ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats. Clarkson needed just 22 seconds of overtime to cap a comeback win over Princeton.
Clarkson remained 9th in the NCAA Pairwise, the ranking used by the selection committee to determine the 11 teams that make the NCAA tournament.

Stephanie Markowski was named ECAC Defender of the week for the 2nd time. On Feb. 9th she had 1 career goal in 123 games played. Since that point she has 5 goals and 1 assist in her last 4 games.
The Knights are 14-1 when David scores, 14-1-1 when Cherkowski scores and 10-1 when Lappan scores. Sr.
Gabrielle David has 20 goals and 30 assists on the season. She needs 1 point to tie Brit Selina for 8th on
the all-time points list. Gab is tied for 7th in the nation in assists (30) and 5th for points (50).
Anne Cherkowski is heating up, she has 7 goals and 9 assists in her last 12 games. In the crease,
Michelle Pasiechnyk has started 30
games (22-7-1) in which she has posted a .935% save percentage, 1.47 GAA and 9 shutouts, which is tied for 2nd best in the nation. She was named the HCA Goalie of the Month for October & ECAC Goalie of the month
for December.
