Fresh off a win over Vassar College on Saturday to open the Liberty League slate, the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team heads to Maryland for a pair of games during the Spring Break week, taking on Rowan University on Monday in Sparks, MD, and then heading to Hood College in Fredierck MD.

The Series: The Golden Knights have faced the Profs of Rowan twice in the past five years, falling in both games. Rowan won the initial meeting between the two teams in 2019 by a score of 17-14 and then took last year's game 21-14. Clarkson has never faced Hood College.

Key Stats for Clarkson (4-0): Although the Golden Knights are averaging more than 17 goals per game, the defense has also stood out. Rylee Ganter is the headliner with nine groundballs and eight caused turnovers, but the starting trio of Ganter, Maeve Bartell, and Meredith James have all played well up to this point, helping Jennaca McGill record an 8.77 goals against average in the first four contests. Offensively, the Knights continue to hum along as Julia Lavarnway (10-16-26) and Madelynn Barnum (20-2-22). Lavarnway leads the conference in assists per game while Barnum is tops in goals per game among those who have played more than one contest this season.

Key Stats for Rowan (2-4): The Profs are a bit better than their early season record as three of their four losses have come by just one goal. Elaina Corson leads the team with 21 points on 16 goals and five assists while also adding in 11 groundballs and 10 caused turnovers. Molly Green does a bit of everything with 18 points (14-4-18), 20 groundballs, 16 caused turnovers, and 32 draw controls. Calista Burke (15 goals), Fiona Lockhart (13 goals) and Hannah Lombardo (10 goals) are also among those that have reached double figures in that category for the Profs.

Key Stats for Hood (3-5): The Blazers have won two straight close contests to get the record back close to .500. Mackenzie Demaio is the key target on offense, as she has posted 34 points on 17 goals and 17 assists to go along with 20 groundballs, 10 caused turnovers, and 11 draws. Three other players are within one goal of reaching double figures for the Blazers, as Abby Burnette, Julia Gregory, and Olivia Pickett have each scored nine times this year. Pickett, a freshman midfielder, is making her presence known for Hood, adding in 34 draw controls, 11 caused turnovers, and 18 groundballs.
