The Knights were called for a penalty at 17:47, and Alabama-Huntsville made the most of the opportunity. Skating with the man advantage, the Chargers pulled their goaltender for another extra skater with one minute to play and the move paid off as Keenan Desmet’s shot deflected off a skate in front and rolled just over the goal line to tie the game with 29 seconds left in regulation.

After a scoreless first period Alabama-Huntsville recorded an early goal and a late tally in the second stanza to take a 2-0 lead through 40 minutes. Defenseman Brandon Roshko put the Chargers on the scoreboard at 4:32 of the second period when he connected on a long low shot along the ice from just inside the blueline that found its way through traffic and past Clarkson’s sophomore goaltender Paul Karpowich (Thunder Bay, ONT). Justin Cseter assisted

With 53.8 seconds left in the period, Kevin Morrison tipped in a shot by Davide Nicoletti late in an Alabama-Huntsville power-play to give the visitors a two-goal lead heading into the third. Cody Campbell also assisted.
