Junior Joe Zarbo (Grand Island, NY) scored the game's lone goal with 9.9 seconds left in overtime to lift the Clarkson University Hockey team to a 1-0 victory over Colorado College in a non-league thriller at Cheel Arena on Saturday night.

Freshman goaltender Steve Perry (Ligonier, PA) recorded his second shutout of the season with an 18-save effort as the Golden Knights completed the series sweep of the Tigers. On Friday, Clarkson earned its first win ever over Colorado College with a 2-1 triumph.

The Golden Knights, who extended their unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1), improved their record to 6-1-1. Clarkson begins ECAC Hockey action at Brown and Yale next weekend.

Colorado College dropped its third straight game to fall to 1-3. The Tigers resume National Collegiate Hockey Conference action next weekend playing a two-game series at Western Michigan.

With overtime winding down in the scoreless game, Zarbo took a pass in the slot from senior captain Ben Sexton (Kanata, ONT), skated to the right circle and fired in a shot for his third goal of the year and the biggest of his career. Freshman Jordan Boucher (St. Therese, QUE) started the play when he picked up a loose puck up along the left boards and fed Sexton at the blueline.

With a little bit of luck the Knights would not have needed to go to overtime as they outshot the Tigers by over a 2-to-1 margin, 43-18. Josh Thorimbert kept Colorado College in the game with a 42-save outing, including eight stops in the extra session.

Perry, who began his collegiate career with a whitewash of Niagara on October 6, was not as busy as Thorimbert, but was equally as sharp. He picked up his second shutout in four games with five first-period saves, six more in the middle frame, another five in the third and two big stops in overtime.
