• | Three freshmen got on the score sheet this weekend. Dylan Gareau (Richmond, ONT) scored his first two collegiate goals against BGSU on Saturday. Nic Pierog (Georgetwon, ONT) tallied his second career goal in Friday's tie against the Falcons and Ben Dalpe (Paris, ONT) recorded an assist on Saturday. Gareau was named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week. |
• | Clarkson has outscored its opponents 5-1 in the third period and has dominated the final 20 minutes in regulation in several games. The Knights outshot BGSU 15-3 in the third period of Saturday's one-goal loss and held an 11-0 shot advantage over Vermont in a 3-0 loss at Cheel on October 18. |
• | Friday's game will be the 196th meeting between Clarkson and St. Lawrence in their rivalry which the Knights lead by a commnading 120-65-10 margin. The Knights have gone 9-1-1 against their North Country neighbor over the past four seasons, including a 2-0 mark in 2013-14. No player on the current Clarkson roster has ever lost a game at Appleton Arena. |
• | After this weekend the Knights will begin ECAC Hockey play with six straight league contests, including the first four on the road, beginning at 2013 NCAA National Champion Yale on November 7. |
• | Senior Joe Zarbo (Grand Island, NY) scored a goal in both games against BGSU and leads Clarkson in scoring with seven points, including a team-high three goals. He is also the Knights' top playmaker with four assists. Zarbo has 53 career points (25-28) in 110 games. |
• | Defense is projected to be Clarkson's strength this season with five veterans and three freshmen, including three NHL Draft picks, anchoring the unit. The Knights are allowing only 21.67 shots per game, which is tied for third-best in Division I. |
• | Ville Runola (Raisio, Finland) saw his first action of the season in the Clarkson goal in the weekend series vs. BGSU. The sophomore got the start on Friday and made 27 saves, including 11 first-period stops. He played the final two periods on Saturday and gave the Knights a chance to win with 11 saves over 40 minutes. Runola, who only played 119 minutes last season, posts a .927 save percentage and a 1.74 goals against average through 103:37 this season. |
• | Steve Perry (Ligonier, PA) has started in goal in five of the first six games and posts a .876 save percentage and a 2.54 GAA en route to a 2-2 record. He is one of 20 goalies named to the Mike Richter Award Watch List for 2014-15, which annually honors the most outstanding goaltender in NCAA Division I men's hockey. |
• | Clarkson has received a balanced scoring effort through the first six games with eight different Knights accounting for the goals. Fifteen players have tallied at least one point. |
• | Sophomore defenseman James de Haas (Mississauga, ONT), who recorded his second goal of the season on Saturday vs. BGSU, leads the scoring from the blueline with three points (2-1). |
• | Clarkson has just two seniors, defenseman James Howden and forward Joe Zarbo on the roster. Eight juniors, eight sophomores and nine freshmen make up the remainder of the 2014-15 Golden Knight roster. |
• | Clarkson is ranked 16th in the nation in faceoff pct. (203-184, 52.5%). Ben Dalpe, who played in both games against BGSU, owns the Knights' best pct. on the draw at 80% (28-7). Troy Josephs (Whitby, ONT) has won 55.9% (33-26) and Brett Gervais (Corona, CA) has won 55.2% (53-43). Jeff DiNallo has taken the most faceoffs for the Green and Gold, winning 47.8% (54-59). |

• | Four former Knights were on NHL opening-day rosters – Mark Borowiecki '11 (Ottawa), Grant Clitsome '08 (Winnipeg), Erik Cole '00 (Dallas) and Willie Mitchell '99 (Florida) . Several former Clarkson standouts are on AHL/ECHL rosters. |
