Warr Inducted into Peterborough, Ont. Sports Hall of Fame

Steve Warr '72, a standout for the Clarkson University Hockey team in the early 1970s and a professional hockey player skating in the AHL and the WHA, was inducted into the Peterborough, Ontario and District Sports Hall of Fame this past Friday.

Warr, 63, joins his father Herb, a long-time member of the Peterborough Petes' executive, in the Hall.

"He is very thrilled with this," said Lynn Pagett, who represented her brother who lives in Potsdam, N.Y. "My dad being here before him and my uncle who started him in hockey. We're all thrilled for him."

A Peterborough native, Warr was a standout in minor hockey, softball and lacrosse. He was invited to the 1968 Petes' training camp, but accepted a scholarship to Clarkson College. Warr is considered one of the best two-sport athletes to play at Clarkson.
