Clarkson got the first goal of the night when Grant Cooper scored at 16:32 of the first period, with assists from Zach Tsekos and Anthony Callin.   The lead held up until Colgate got a rebound goal past Ethan Haider, when Nick Anderson scored from Jeff Stewart at 9:54 of the third period.

In OT, Josh Dunne possessed the puck for what felt like the first 2 minutes, drawing a fresh set of legs for Clarkson and getting some good chances to start.  The teams traded possessions, but the 5 min period ended 1-1.

In the ECAC's new shootout format, teams select 3 shooters and then an additional round will occur until a team has won the shootout.

Alex Campbell went first for the Knights, but his shot was saved by Andrew Farrier, who made 29 saves on the evening.  Matt Verboon scored to put Colgate up 1-0.  Anthony Romano beat Farrier to his glove side, but his shot rang off the post.  Alex Young was able to seal the shootout win for Colgate when he scored to end round 2.

Clarkson went 0 for 5 on the power play and killed off all 4 chances that Colgate off the man advantage.

Ethan Haider made 13 saves for the game in his 3rd straight start in goal for Clarkson.

The Knights next travel to Quinnipiac for a 3 game set starting on Friday.
