Clarkson will look to follow up their hard fought 3-1 win last night with another big game tonight, 5:00 pm puck drop, in South Bend against the #20 ranked Irish.
Newcomers to the Knights line up had a big impact at both ends of the rink, as
Austin Roden looked like a 5th year vet in the crease making 27 saves and
Cody Monds chipped in two goals to pace the Knights.
Tonight, Clarkson will look to take the two game series against the Irish, but will need to rely on the shot blocking and strong penalty kill from last night, that seemed to frustrate the Irish forwards. Monds first goal was a result of Romano getting in the shooting lane of a Irish player and causing the turnover that led to a 2 on 1 with
Ryan Taylor and Monds. Numerous other times in big situations last night, Clarkson defenders sacrificed their bodies to get a piece of the puck and when shots did make it through, Roden was strong all night long.Â
Tonight's game will be available to stream on NBC's Peacock and can be heard on air with Bob Ahfleld on B99.3 FM.
