The 19th ranked Golden Knights return to play when they host Union on Friday and RPI on Saturday at Cheel Arena.  The Knights have been off since early December when they swept a road weekend at Harvard and Dartmouth.  An exhibition game against Concordia on Dec. 29th allowed the coaches to get some players in the line up and bridge the gap between ECAC play. 

Clarkson comes into the weekend in 3rd place in the ECAC with the fewest games played.  Union is tied for league points, but has 2 more games played, so this weekend provides the chance for Clarkson to continue to put distance between them and the rest of the field fighting for the Regular Season Title and the important first round bye in the ECAC playoffs.  

The Knights face former assistant coach, Josh Hauge, now Head Coach of the Garnet Chargers.   The Knights beat Union 4-1 earlier this season down in Schenectady on goals from Martino, Sukovic (2), and Sarsland with 28 saves from Ethan Langenegger.  Clarkson is 3-2 in their last 5 and 7-3 in their last 10 vs Union. 

The Knights not only are looking to work towards their point total in the ECAC but also position themselves within the NCAA teams under consideration.  Currently the Knights sit at #18 in the Pairwise, and will need to continue to climb into the top 14 or 15 to be considered for a NCAA at large selection. 

Clarkson is lead by Ayrton Martino and Ellis Rickwood for total points (13) and Martino leads in goals scored.  Martino also has 3 game winning goals which puts him 8th in the NCAA and top in the ECAC for that category.
