The Series: The Golden Knights still trail in the all-time series 26-30 against Skidmore, but Clarkson has lost only once to the Thoroughbreds since the 2012 season. That defeat came in the regular season a year ago, but the Green and Gold rallied for a win during the Liberty League playoffs in the opening round of the tournament. Clarkson is just over .500 against Oswego State at 22-20 and the team has won three straight against the Lakers.

Key Stats for Clarkson (11-12, 3-4 Liberty League): The Golden Knights have long been renowned for their defensive prowess in the back row with numerous liberos having receiving Liberty League All-Star honors. While Olivia Baxter appears well on her way to keeping that run alive (5.80 digs per set, ranking 12th in NCAA Division III), but Golden Knights are also excelling on the block this year despite being somewhat undersized up front. Jordyn Leader (0.83 blocks per set), Ainslie Reimer (0.65 bps) and Ashley Currier (0.64 bps) are the first trio of Clarkson players to average better than 0.60 blocks per set in a season since 2008 when Rachel Simons, Nicole Edwards, and McKenzie Cook all topped the figure, with Jessica Brody (0.59 bps) nearly making it four.

Key Stats for Skidmore (12-9, 4-3 Liberty League): The Thoroughbreds will clinch a home playoff spot with a win over Clarkson on Saturday, though the Golden Knights can also possibly gain home playoff position with a victory. A three-way tie with Vassar is also a possibility, leaving the tiebreaker system up to the task. Skidmore hopes to avoid that with its diverse offense, led by Natalie Pedersen (2.48 kills per set), who returned from an absence in mid-September. Maya Stolarz (2.34 kps) and Chloe Heitman (2.33 kps) are also frequent targets, and Jazlin Chen (1.87 kps) leads the team with a .338 hitting percentage.

Key Stats for Oswego State (19-6, 7-2 SUNYAC): The Lakers have clinched a playoff spot in the conference standings and are eyeing a spot in the top two with some help from the opponents of Fredonia. Priscilla McReynolds is a six-rotation player, averaging 3.00 kills and 3.15 digs per set while also achieving 0.40 aces and 0.46 blocks per game. Kalley Vugteveen is hitting .305 with 2.79 kills per set, while Mya Bush runs the offense with 8.81 assists per set. CJ Eidem leads the back row for the Lakers at 3.50 digs per set, just ahead of McReynolds.
