Seven Swimmers and Divers Win Multiple Events in Clarkson Dual Meet Versus Oswego State

Potsdam, NY – For the second straight day, Gavin Cibelli, Casey Everett, and Gavin Stuhler each won multiple events for the Clarkson University Swimming & Diving team, as the Golden Knights split with Oswego State on Saturday afternoon at Fuller Pool.

The Golden Knights' men won 190-101 while the women came up short against the Lakers 183.5-109.5. Clarkson will be at St. Michael's next weekend.

FULL RESULTS

Cibelli won both of the diving events for the Golden Knights' men, taking the 3-meter with 227.75 points and the 1-meter with 235.35 points. Everett switched up events slightly on Saturday, winning the 200 freestyle (2:02.77) and 400 freestyle (4:24.98) while sitting out the longer distance. Stuhler ended up with a pair of wins in the sprint freestyle races, taking the 50 freestyle in 24.53 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 55.44 seconds. Mason Cartier also won a pair of events and nearly claimed a third as well, but ultimately finished as the runner up in the 100 individual medley. Cartier still ended up in first place for the 50 backstroke (28.48) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.59).

Joining the aforementioned four swimmers, Evan Paneras also won twice on Saturday, taking the 100 butterfly in 59.54 seconds and later winning the 50 butterfly in 26.83 seconds. Danny Killian placed first in the 800 freestyle in 9:22.70 and Andrew Sammons was Clarkson's other individual winner with a victory in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.05. Clarkson's men also won both relays, taking the 200 medley relay (Cartier, Sammons, Paneras, Stuhler) in 1:50.36 and ending the day with a win in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:40.99 thanks to the foursome of Andrew Sypko, Owen White, Landon Colby, and Stuhler.

On the women's side, Evelyn Vieira matched Cibelli with wins in both diving events, taking the 1-meter dive with 191.80 points and the 3-meter dive with 214.90 points. Natasha Hurff won a pair of events in the longer freestyle races, first winning the 800 freestyle in 10:08.25 and then later hitting the pad first for the 400 freestyle with a time of 4:55.25. Kirsten Isles also picked up an individual victory as she took top honors in the 100 freestyle in 1:05.77.

Clarkson also added a couple runner-up finishes on the women's side, including Emma Canale (50 backstroke), Paige Davis (100 individual medley), and Abigail Szyprowski (50 freestyle).
