AT CLARKSON (1989-93) – Emerged from a walk-on candidate into one of the Knights’ most successful goaltenders … Helped to lead Clarkson to four years of unparalleled success in the early 1990s, which was comprised of a 92-40-11 overall record, four straight 20-win seasons, four consecutive showings in the NCAA Tournament, including a Frozen Four appearance (1991), two ECAC Tournament Championships crowns (1991, 1993), and a conference regular season title (1991) … Earned a myriad of honors which was culminated with the Most Valuable Player award of the 1993 ECAC Championship Tournament … Closed out his career with a 44-13-4 record, including six shutouts, a .903 save percentage and a 2.90 goals against average ... Also recorded six assists in his Clarkson career.
SENIOR YEAR (1992-93) – Backboned Clarkson’s turnaround, starting 15 of the last 17 games as the Knights overcame a 6-8-4 record in mid-January to finish with a 20-10-5 overall record and their fourth consecutive showing in the NCAA Tournament … Was named MVP of the ECAC Championship Tournament after posting 24 saves in the title-clinching game, a 3-1 victory over Brown (3/20) in Lake Placid … He also had 24 stops in the 5-3 semifinal win over RPI (3/19) … Played in 27 games overall, posting a .915 save percentage, a 2.42 GAA and 16-4-4 record, including three shutouts (all on the road) … Named an ECAC Honorable Mention All-Star … Made a season-high 45 saves in 6-0 win at Boston College (11/29) … Also blanked St. Lawrence (1/23) and Cornell (2/12) on their home ice … Played every minute in goal during Clarkson’s strong postseason run … Had one assist … Played on U.S. Team at USA Cup Tournament held in Albany in mid-December … Named ECAC Player of the Week once and selected three times to the conference honor roll.
JUNIOR YEAR (1991-92) – Shared the goaltending duties with Jason Currie, playing in 19 games … Posted the second best winning percentage (.786) in the nation with an 11-3 record … Recorded a .904 save percentage (5th in the country) and a 3.06 goals against average … Made a career-high 51 saves in 5-4 win at UNH (11/30) to earn ECAC Player of the Week accolades ... Kicked-out 29 shots in 8-3 triumph over Brown (3/7) in ECAC Quarterfinal contest … Named to the ECAC weekly honor roll once.
SOPHOMORE YEAR (1900-91) – Emerged as one of the top netminders in the ECAC … Named second-team all-league … Played goal in a team-high 28 games, starting 23, and posted a .891 save % and a 3.55 GAA en route to a 16-6 record, including three shutouts … Became only the second Clarkson goalie to win the ECAC regular season goaltending title, awarded to the goalie with the lowest GAA (2.98) in league play … Best effort was a 37-save performance in 5-3 win at Boston University (1/11) … Made 22 saves to white-wash Dartmouth 5-0 (1/4) for first collegiate shutout … Blanked arch-rival St. Lawrence 3-0 with 26 stops in Saints’ final game at Walker Arena (1/19) … Opened postseason play by shutting out Yale 4-0 (3/1) on 19 saves … Named to ECAC All-tournament team following a 23-save outing in 5-4 championship game victory over St. Lawrence (3/10) … Earned First Star honors in game three of NCAA Quarterfinal series 4-3 triumph over Lake Superior State (3/14) with 34-save performance .. Selected ECAC Player of the Week on January 21, and to ECAC weekly Honor Roll on January 14 … Was chosen Clarkson’ Most Improved Player.
FRESHMAN YEAR (1989-90) – Played a back-up role to John Fletcher … Saw playing time in seven games, recording a .903 save % and a 2.96 GAA … Best outing was in his first collegiate start at Army (2/17) when he allowed only a late third-period power-play goal to earn a 4-1 victory with 19 saves … Made an appearance in both NCAA playoff games at Minnesota.
