The Clarkson Women's Hockey team came out of the gates strong against the 5th ranked Raiders, but a goal by Kaitlyn O'Donohoe at the 03:08 mark of the first took the momentum and Colgate's special teams took over the game.
Colgate scored 2 power play goals in the second period that led to a goaltending change.
Amanda Zeglen, the Sr goaltender, entered the game for her first action of the season. She saved all 8 shots she faced in 33 minutes of action. The Knights were finally able to break through when
Caitrin Lonergan scored on the 7th power play chance of the game.
Elizabeth Giguere and
Gabrielle David assisted on the goal.
Clarkson out shot Colgate, 35 to 26, went 1 for 7 on the power play and gave up 2 power goals on 6 Colgate chances. MP Coulombe made 14 saves on 18 shots to start the game.
The Knights will host Colgate on Monday at 5:00 pm.
