The Clarkson Women's Hockey team took game 1 of the two game series at Mercyhurst, 3-1 on goals from Jenna Goodwin, Kirstyn McQuigge, and Darcie Lappan.

Clarkson jumped out to a 1-0 lead at 6:59 when Darcie Lappan got her team leading 4th of the season.  The Knights took a 2-0 lead in the first period when Kirstyn McQuigge scores just 11 seconds later.   The Lakers would pull within one before the period ended.  

In the second period, Jenna Goodwin would put the Knights back up 2 at 3:13, and that would be all the Knights needed as they would shut down Mercyhurst the rest of the way.   

Michelle Pasiechnyk would end up with 22 saves on 23 shots for her 3rd win of the season.    Clarkson was 1 for 1 on the penalty kill and did not have a power play on the night.

Stephanie Markowski added 2 assist and Lappan added an assists to go with her early goal. 

Clarkson will finish the trip with a 2:00 pm face-off tomorrow.
