Cornell edges out Clarkson

Clarkson gave up 2 first period goals to the Big Red and despite sending 45 shots on net could not overcome the early deficit and fell to Cornell 2-1 in the last regular season game of the season.  

Nicole Gosling got the lone goal for Clarkson at 19:23 of the 2nd period on the power play.  Clarkson had the goalie pulled for the final 1:40+ but were unable to get the equalizer.  

The final day of games produced some wild results which leaves Clarkson now traveling to Quinnipiac for the quarterfinal round of the ECAC playoffs.  Harvard won the ECAC Regular Season title with the win over Union.  Colgate leaped Quinnipiac with their win over SLU and the Bobcats loss to Brown.  

Today the Golden Knights honored their departing seniors in a post game Ceremony.  Clarkson's Class of 2022 has helped the Green and Gold skate to some of the program's most
successful seasons both on and off the ice. Academically, the Class of 2022 have attained, 8 Dean's List awards, 3 President's List awards and have a cumulative class GPA of 3.512. On the
ice, they have attained 85 career wins. They have skated to three 20+ win seasons, one of which was a 30-win campaign, made two home-ice appearances in the ECAC Hockey playoffs, claimed
an ECAC Tournament Championship in 2019, qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 2019 & 2020, and advanced in 2019 to the Frozen Four.

The departing seniors are: 
#11 Captain Caitrin Lonergan
Caitrin, a native of Roslindale, MA, is a Masters of Business Administration graduate student where she holds a 3.787 GPA. She holds a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree from
Clarkson, and achieved the Dean's List and President's list in 2020 and 2021. On the ice she has played in 161 collegiate games amassing 207 Points on 89 Goals and 118 Assists. This year
Caitrin was named a nominee for the Mandi Schwartz Award given to the ECAC Student Athlete of the Year. She was named 2018 Second Team All-American and a Patty Kazmaier Top-10
Finalist. After an injury plagued 2019-20 season, Caitrin has proven to be an impact player in every game she has dawned the green and gold, in 2021 she was named to the ECAC First Team
and once again nominated as a Top-10 Finalist. Caitrin's unwavering commitment and sacrifice to whatever it takes to get the job done on the ice is second to none.

#14 Assistant Captain Morgan Helgeson.
Morgan, a native of Lake Elmo, MN, is a Psychology major with a 3.00 GPA. Academically, She earned a spot on the Deans list in both 2020 and 2021. Morgan has played in 127 games for the
Golden Knights amassing 14pts on 6 Goals and 8 Assists. This year Morgan was named an Assistant Captain, where her on-ice and off-ice work ethic helped to push teammates daily. Her
positive attitude is contagious and her gritty play is one that many of her teammates emulate and respect. 

#16 Kristina Schuler.
Kristina is a Webster, New York native and Graduate Transfer from Boston University. She is pursuing her Master of Business Administration in Data Analytics, and currently holds a 4.00
average. Over the course of her career Kristina has skated in 151 games collecting 70 points on 32 Goals & 38 Assists. Kristina's positive attitude and genuine demeanor will be greatly missed.
We know that you will be successful in all that you do in life. 

#23 Miranda Gaudet.
Miranda, a native of West Kelowna, British Columbia is a Communications Major with a minor in Business. She has achieved a 3.178 GPA, and was named to the ECAC All-Academic Team in
2021, as well as, earning the Krampade All-American Scholar achievement in 2021. Over her playing career Miranda played in 88 games totaling 5points on 1 goal and 3 assists. Liked and
admired by teammates past and present, Miranda's positive attitude, team first mentality, and genuine demeanor will be greatly missed. 

#37 Amanda Zeglen.
Amanda, hails from Calgary, Alberta. Earned a Business Innovations and Entrepreneurship Degree in 2021 from Clarkson and is currently pursuing an MBA with a focus in Data Analytics
obtaining a 3.593 GPA. Amanda is a member of the Sigma Nu Tau Entrepreneurship Honor Society, she was on the Deans list in 2020, 2021, 2022, and was on the presidents list in 2021.
She has been named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team three times, WCHA All-Academic Team two times, and earned the Krampade All-American Scholar achievement in 2021. Amanda
has appeared in 21 games over the course of her career; she has a 6-1-1 record while accruing a 1.73 GAA (Goals Against Average) and a .918 SV% (Save Percentage). Amanda brings a positive
attitude to the rink and pushes her fellow goalies to be their best daily.
