Clarkson had to battle back from a 1-0 first period deficit to get a 4-1 win over the Orange at the Tennity Pavilion on the campus of the of Syracuse University.
A sluggish start allowed the Orange to get some momentum early in the game. Just a few minutes into the game, Syracuse hit the post and was inches away from taking the early lead. Then Tatum White scored on the power play for SU at 11:17.  Syracuse would go to the break with the 1 goal lead after out shooting the Knights, 10 to 9. Â
In the 2nd period, the Knights looked more like the #5 team in the nations as the stormed back to out shoot the Orange 14 to 1 and net 3 goals. At 10:28,
Anne Cherkowski scored her 7th on the season on the power play. Â
As the period and the pressure wore on, the Knights would get another goal at 17:06 from
Alexie Guay and then take the 3-1 lead at 18:18 when
Jenna Goodwin scored her 2nd of the season. Â
In the final period,
Brooke McQuigge would score just 48 seconds into the period to put the Knights up 4-1. Clarkson would out shoot the Orange 16 -2 in the final 20 minutes eliminating any chance at a comeback from Syracuse.
Michelle Pasiechnyk would make 12 saves for her 12 win on the season. Clarkson was 1 for 4 on the power play and allowed 1 goal on 2 chances from the Orange power play.
With the win, Clarkson moves to 15-0-2 on the season and will close out their non conference portion of the schedule on Saturday at 3:00pm at Cheel vs Syracuse. Â
