Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Knights win in OT at Lake State

The Clarkson Men's hockey team pulled off an overtime victory with a Noah Beck power play goal at 1:15 of the over time period to give the Knights a 4-3 win on the road.

Clarkson would fall behind in the 1st when Lake State would score on the power play.  Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup  would not let the lead stand long for the Lakers, as he was able to tie the game at 7:14 in the 1st period.
Svejstrup would score again at 8:59 of the 2nd period to put the Knights up 2-1.  In the 3rd period, Mathieu Gosselin would get his 2nd in as many games to make it 3-1.

Clarkson would hold off Lake Superior for much of the 3rd, but late in the period they would give up a power play goal to make it 3-2.  With the empty net the Knights had two looks to put the game out of reach, a shot at net from mid ice went just wide and a potential 2 on 1 with Campbell and Martino was whistled down when Haider's mask came off.  Then with under 2 seconds on the clock, the Lakers were able to even the score and sent the game to over time.

In the extra session, a tripping call on Lake State put the Knights on the power play and after some back and forth between Beck and Romano, Noah Beck was able to score and give the Knights the ot win.

Ethan Haider made 24 saves for the win.  Clarkson gave up 2 power play goals on 4 chances and scored 1 on 5 chances with the man advantage.

The two teams will be back at it tomorrow for a 6:07 puck drop at Abel Arena.
