Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Knights blank Engineers 3-0

The Golden Knights would utilize a strong penalty kill and shut down goaltending to get their first ECAC win of the season, 3-0 over RPI.

Clarkson and RPI would head to the first intermission scoreless, both teams having brief power plays in the period.

To close out the 2nd period, the Knights capitalized on a turnover at the RPI blueline when Mathieu Gosselin was able to tap the puck to Ayrton Martino to spark a 2-1 break.  Martino was able to slide the puck under the defenders stick to Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup who was able to beat Watson to put the Knights up 1-0.

In the 3rd, the Knights would continue to pressure RPI, not giving them much chance to build any momentum.  With under 1:45 left in the game, the Engineers would pull their goalie for the extra attacker and Jacob Schmidt-Svesjtrup was able to get his 2nd of the game and put the Knights up 2-0.  The Engineers would get a power play with 47 seconds left and pull their goalie again.  The Knights would get another insurance goal with 10 seconds left when Erik Bargholtz would score, netting his first goal as a Golden Knight.
Ethan Haider made 16 saves on the night for his first shut out of the season.  Clarkson would go 0 for 1 on the power play and kill off all 5 chances for RPI with the man advantage.

The Knights will continue the home stand with Colgate and Cornell visiting Cheel next weekend.
