After a tight overtime win on Friday, the Knight's offense exploded in a 7-0 win at Union to cap off a road weekend sweep for Clarkson.
Captain
Brooke McQuigge wasted no time setting the tone, as she scored just 35 seconds into the game with assists from
Sara Swiderski and
Haley Winn. Clarkson added to their 1st period lead when
Gabrielle David scored two straight goals at 12:19 and then at the buzzer to end the period.Â
Anne Cherkowski assisted on both and
Haley Winn helped with goal #2 and
Stephanie Markowski with goal #3.
The 2nd period was much of the same for the Knights,
Anne Cherkowski got her 14th of the season at 9:33 from Markowski and Winn.Â
Baylee Kirwan would score at 11:21 and
Nicole Gosling would make it 6-0 after two with a power play goal at 17:25.
Clarkson would add a goal in the 3rd when
Haley Winn scored a short-handed empty net goal at 19:15. For Winn she ended with 1 goal and 3 assists. Markowski ended with 3 assists and Cherkowski with a goal and 3 assists.Â
Michelle Pasiechnyk ended with 9 saves for her nation-leading 8th shutout of the season.
Clarkson will next have a league home and home series with SLU, Friday they will play at Appleton, and Saturday, return home to face the Saints.
