CLARKSON FIGHTS BACK TO EARN A TIE AT SLU

Canton, NY – The Knights spotted St. Lawrence a 2-goal advantage but fought their way back to earn a tie on the road.   

Clarkson and the Saints skated to a scoreless tie in the first period, but the Knights owned a 10-5 shot advantage.

In the 2^nd period, Abby Hustler put the Saints on the board at 6:39, and then at 8:43, the Saints got a power play goal from Kiley Mastel to put them up 2-0.   At 9:29 the Knights would go on the power play when Bjorgan of SLU would go off for roughing.  Anne Cherkowski would connect at 10:15 to make it 2-1, for Cherkowski it was her 15^th goal of the season and Gabrielle David got her 23^rd assist of the year.

The Knights would need nearly all of the final frame to tie it up, but at 19:36 with the extra attacker on, Haley Winn took a shot from the point that beat Lucy Morgan over the shoulder.  Olivia Hanson and Nicole Gosling would get assists on the game-tying goal. 

Overtime saw the Knights out shot the Saints 5-1, but end in a tie. 

Clarkson out shot the Saints in the game 39 to 17.  Michelle Pasiechnyk would make 15 saves for Clarkson, while Lucy Morgan would finish with 37 saves.    

Clarkson went 1 for 4 with the power play and SLU was 1-1 with the advantage.

The two teams will finish off the season series on Saturday at Cheel Arena, 3 pm puck drop.
