CLARKSON FIGHTS BACK TO EARN A TIE AT SLU
Canton, NY – The Knights spotted St. Lawrence a 2-goal advantage but fought their way back to earn a tie on the road.  Â
Clarkson and the Saints skated to a scoreless tie in the first period, but the Knights owned a 10-5 shot advantage.
In the 2
nd period, Abby Hustler put the Saints on the board at 6:39, and then at 8:43, the Saints got a power play goal from Kiley Mastel to put them up 2-0.  At 9:29 the Knights would go on the power play when Bjorgan of SLU would go off for roughing. Â
Anne Cherkowski would connect at 10:15 to make it 2-1, for Cherkowski it was her 15
th goal of the season and
Gabrielle David got her 23
rd assist of the year.
The Knights would need nearly all of the final frame to tie it up, but at 19:36 with the extra attacker on,
Haley Winn took a shot from the point that beat Lucy Morgan over the shoulder.Â
Olivia Hanson and
Nicole Gosling would get assists on the game-tying goal.Â
Overtime saw the Knights out shot the Saints 5-1, but end in a tie.Â
Clarkson out shot the Saints in the game 39 to 17.Â
Michelle Pasiechnyk would make 15 saves for Clarkson, while Lucy Morgan would finish with 37 saves.  Â
Clarkson went 1 for 4 with the power play and SLU was 1-1 with the advantage.
The two teams will finish off the season series on Saturday at Cheel Arena, 3 pm puck drop.
